Dutch Visit
In January 2012 I visited the Dutch show, which is held in Utrecht, near the Belgium border. The show differed from the pigeon shows held in the UK as it contained exhibits of small animals, exotic birds and poultry, along side the fancy pigeons.
The Modena pigeon entry, although limited, consisted of approximately fifty birds and included one or two good gazzis.
Whilst in Utrecht, I took the opportunity to visit friends and fellow Modena breeders Con Smans and his father Gijs. The beautiful loft and aviaries are situated at Cons house in Poppel, just inside the Belgium border.
Con and Gijs are specialist Argent breeders, although you will see from the photos that they also have an excellent stud of blue and bronze tri gazzis.
