On this page are some of my 2011 nestlings and youngsters as at July 2011. I hope to take pictures of the same birds after their first moult to compare changes and developments.
Below numbers refer to slide show pictures and my comments about these particular birds
1 Two bronze tri gazzis(both schietti bred)
5 Gazzi and schietti, both parents are schietti
10 Silver dun gazzi and blue schietti.from a blue gazzi cock.and bronze schietti hen. Many quality russets and silver duns are produced from such mating.
11 This hen has been produced along with several others from a grizzle gazzi cock, which I mated to my best ochre hen.Already showing great type.
14 and 15 are a pair of bronze tris showing great promise.A large number of blues in gazzi and schietti have come from my best two blue cocks, that did very little last year. But this year paired to two new hens. They have been prolific. So it is sometimes worth swapping pairs around.
Above and below are pictures taken of the same young Modena Four months apart
16 large russet tri hen, really well marked and a large type bird. This I bred from a dark cheque cock, that came out of a blue argent. This dark cheque must be brown based.Very useful in the breeding pen.I have several of these if any modena breeders are looking to add a bit of size to there stock.
18 This is one of three silver cream gazzis.I am hoping there is a cock bird amongst them.as there is very few in the UK.
21 A pair of silver hens that have come out of the two pairs of blue and bronze tris
I prefare to mate schietti to gazzi were possible and dominant to dilute. As I find schietti can improve both gazzi and dilute.
